REIMS, France \u2013 February 3, 2026 – Apmonia Therapeutics (“Apmonia”), a biotechnology company developing next\u0002generation cancer therapies targeting the tumor microenvironment, today announced that it has secured \u20ac10 million in financing. The financing is supported by Apmonia\u2019s existing investors Capital Grand-Est, FINOVAM Gestion, Fournier-Majoie Foundation, and Angels Sant\u00e9, alongside new private investors and Capital Cell. The proceeds will be used to initiate Apmonia\u2019s first-in-human Phase 1\/2a clinical study of TAX2 in patients with advanced solid tumors in France and Belgium, and to further expand Apmonia\u2019s proprietary extracellular matrix (ECM) platform to generate additional peptide-based therapeutic assets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


“This financing is a pivotal step as we bring TAX2 into first-in-human development,” said Albin Jeanne, Chief Executive Officer of Apmonia Therapeutics. “TAX2 is a first-in-class peptide new chemical entity (NCE) designed to selectively disrupt the TSP\u20111\/CD47 interaction\u2014an immune-suppressive mechanism embedded in the tumor microenvironment
\u2014while sparing the CD47\u2013SIRP\u03b1 pathway, thereby aiming to avoid the hematologic toxicities associated with systemic CD47 blockade. Our focus is now on executing a clinical program to the highest standards, generating meaningful patient data, validating this novel pathway in humans, and supporting partnering opportunities.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n


Apmonia continues to expand its European footprint with a dedicated R&D subsidiary in Li\u00e8ge, Belgium, established in August 2025, and has strengthened its governance with the appointment of two independent Board members, Nissim Darvish, MD, PhD, and Julie Rachline, PhD.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


TAX2 is designed to reprogram the tumor microenvironment<\/strong>
TAX2 is a cyclic 12\u2013amino-acid peptide that selectively antagonizes the TSP\u20111\/CD47 interaction. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

By preventing CD47 receptor activation mediated by tumor-overexpressed thrombospondin\u20111 (TSP\u20111), TAX2 is designed to act as a tumor microenvironment modulator, reprogramming highly vascularized tumors toward a less angiogenic state while restoring anti-tumor immune activity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apmonia has generated robust non-clinical proof-of-concept data upporting TAX2\u2019s immune-stimulatory and anti tumor activity, including activation of tumor-specific T cells and significant tumor growth inhibition. TAX2\u2019s profile supports evaluation both as a monotherapy and in combination strategies, including immune checkpoint inhibitors and targeted therapies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/strong>TAX2 is rooted in more than a decade of translational research on the extracellular matrix-driven TSP\u20111\/CD47 axis, encompassing both Apmonia\u2019s proprietary research efforts and multiple independent academic research programs.
This body of work, featured in leading peer-reviewed journals, supports the biological relevance of the pathway and the non-clinical efficacy of TAX2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


The phase 1\/2a study is designed to validate TAX2 in patients and enable partnering <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apmonia will initiate a first-in-human, open-label Phase 1\/2a study of TAX2 in patients with relapsed or refractory advanced or metastatic solid tumors. The study is designed to evaluate safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamic biomarkers, while generating early clinical signals of activity creating a clear value-inflection point to support partnering discussions with pharmaceutical companies.
Participating reference centers include Gustave Roussy (France), Centre L\u00e9on B\u00e9rard (France), Institut Jules Bordet (Belgium) and UZ Gent (Belgium).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A platform built to deliver multiple ECM-targeting assets
<\/strong>Beyond TAX2, Apmonia\u2019s proprietary discovery platform integrates advanced molecular modeling, AI-driven peptide design, and deep expertise in ECM biology to generate next-generation peptide-based therapeutics candidates designed to disrupt tumor\u2013stroma interactions and overcome resistance mechanisms.
